Waves of Becoming

A Lenten haiku found me this weekend as I contemplated how my own waves of becoming have led me to where I am today and this Lent. Looking back, it’s remarkable how the different seasons of my life have shaped my vocations of spiritual direction and *hopefully* loving partnership someday. I’m in awe of how beautifully wild my path has been so far.

I recently learned that the symbolism of sand dollars includes choosing your path, strength, flexibility and freedom, right around the same time that I discovered spiritual direction. A gold sand dollar necklace that I inherited from my late grandma has since become a talisman, reminding me of my faith, family and path.
